"Following Jesus: Prayer & Worship"
"Come close to God, and God will come close to you."
James 4:8 (NLT)
“GOD LOVES YOU AND WANTS TO BE CLOSE TO YOU”
Through WORSHIP and PRAYER, we have ACCESS to God’s PRESENCE and POWER.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)
The most important decision you can make: Who you will follow.
There is no greater life than the one lived following Jesus!
Paul - didn’t experience fulfillment until encountering & following Jesus
"But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus MY LORD, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may GAIN Christ." Philippians 3:7-8 (NIV)
People are always looking for happiness & fulfillment, but only following Jesus gives that.
IMPORTANT: Declaring Jesus as our Lord. It’s not enough just to believe that he’s real; you must choose to follow him.
“BEING WITH JESUS”
Luke 10:38-42 (ESV)
WHAT IS THAT ONE THING:
Sitting at Jesus’ Feet – “SIT & LISTEN”
The Christian life: is not just about knowing and doing; it’s about being with Jesus. (Mark 3:14) Not only do we need to spend time with God but God wants to spend time with us.
“PRAYER IS THE GREATEST PRIVILEGE OF HUMANITY”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (ESV)
PRAYER: Talking with God.
Through prayer we have access to his PRESENCE and POWER.
WORSHIP: To Give God What He His Worth
John 4:23-24 (ESV)
Psalm 100:1-5 (ESV)
WORSHIP aligns our heart to God’s.
It invites the presence of God into our life.
A few moments in worship will change the climate of your heart.
