Happy Father’s Day

The Father’s Love

“See what kind of love the Father has given to us,
that we should be called children of God”

1 John 3:1

We have no greater example of a Father than God Himself, who made us in His image for relationship with Him, and spared no expense for us to be reconciled to Him as sons and daughters through our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

For The Fathers: Happy Father’s Day! it is no easy responsibility to reflect God’s heart as we lead and love our own children. We recognize our inadequacy more than anyone else could know it, and it takes a special kind of courage to be gentle and strong at the same time, to help our children navigate the challenges of life, and to set them on their own path to follow Jesus and be difference makers in the world. God sees you, knows the challenges you face, and is helping you as you seek to honor Him with your family. Keep going. You have what it takes with God’s help.

For The Father Figures: Never underestimate the significance you are making when you invest in a child to fill the gap due to the loss of a father, by whatever means. You have been given a unique opportunity to mentor and give hope to young women and men who face the challenge of not having their own father in their life. You are changing the world for a young person, and God is proud of you.

For All of Us: For the mother who is left to navigate parenting without a father in the home, you are not alone and you are doing great. Don’t give up: Your children will call you “blessed”.  For the son and daughter unable to have a relationship with your human father, your Heavenly Father is with you, loves you and will never leave you. For those of us who have our father’s and father figures with us today, reach out and thank them for their role in your life. They need to hear from you. It doesn’t take much to encourage them.

Billy Graham said, “A good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society.” I agree, and I thank God for His purpose and power to redeem Fatherhood in our lives. I hope you experience His Father’s love this Father’s Day.
